Skin cancer precaution

A lesion that undergoes a noticeable increase in size over a period of time or development of irregular pigmentation should be evaluated and biopsied. The ABCs of Melanoma are a necessary guideline for determining which moles could be suspicious for melanoma.

  • A Assymetry
  • B Border and bleeding
  • C Colour. Most moles have homogenous tan or brown colour. Moles tat develop pigment variegation within an otherwise homogenous background should be evaluated.
  • D Diameter > 6mm in diameter
  • E Elevation
